This began as an example page. I am tackling this before trying to make a blog post because I hope to use it as the home page – landing page? – soon. Most people start with an About page that introduces them to potential site visitors; no doubt I will make one soon. It might say something like this:

Hello there! My name is Victoria Sawyer. I am someone who has always loved books. As my attention moved to movies and video games and TV shows and back to books, I realized (while nothing beats the feel of a bound book) my true love is of stories. Stories in all their forms. Eventually, the little episodes I made up for fun grew as I did, until a few of them became something resembling a whole tale. Now, I am writing books from both my old ideas and the new ones that come with growing frequency, and learning how to tell my stories well.

Until I gain ability and confidence in this whole website-editing skill, the above will do for my introduction. This website is, for now, a placeholder. The next paragraph from the sample page will remain unaltered, because the doohickeys made me laugh when I first read about them.

The XYZ Doohickey Company was founded in 1971, and has been providing quality doohickeys to the public ever since. Located in Gotham City, XYZ employs over 2,000 people and does all kinds of awesome things for the Gotham community.
