At last, the second draft of my science fiction story is finished! It felt a little odd to suddenly not have that go-to task. It is put away now, out of sight and out of mind until July’s NaNoWriMo event.
I’d like to make a bigger deal about this being the one year anniversary of my website, but I cannot muster the energy. To be honest, it sneaked up on me. My family took a multi-generational vacation earlier (which was smaller than that sounds reading it back). So, much of the enthusiasm which would have built up preparing for today was directed towards that adventure.
After we returned, someone in my household got sick. I’ve been taking care of her, and think I may have caught a mild version of it. I do not feel bad, really; I needed a few tissues and get tired easily. The most annoying part of it is that I keep realizing that I have just sat there doing nothing for a long time.
All in all, a lot has happened, with little to show here. As far as ‘work’ goes, since I last posted I have expanded a few story ideas, and read outside my usual pursuits. The 18th approaching reminded me of my website, and the other parts of my profession. In all the excitement, I completely forgot about updating my front page. I changed it just now.
The comments my website has received concern me. I still have not dealt with them. Should I worry about the ones I can’t tell if they are spam, or not? Even if I believe they are (for example, “… You ought to be a part of a contest for one of the greatest sites on the internet …” submitted from a free address with a gibberish name), is it OK to approve it, to let it publicly be viewed on my website?
Oo! I found where I can schedule when a post goes live. Fun!
