Hello, everybody. There is nothing entirely new to report; I’m still uploading chapters of the fanfiction, and still expanding my other ideas. Next month there will be a few writing events. I may work on finishing this project early so I can take full advantage of them.
I have now experienced how beneficial it is to have a buffer of work ready to upload in case something unusual happens. This month, there were a couple of sudden family things, a couple of very late nights, a couple of minor health issues. None of it was bad, it’s just, with it all that close together, I delayed one of my chapters. With my health involved, it seemed like a dumb idea to sacrifice sleep to meet a posting schedule. I am determined that this will not delay the rest of the story.
If I had just worked ahead, these things would not have affected each other. And I knew that! Now, I shall act on that knowledge more consistently.
Learn from me, please. Prepare more than is necessary, even a tiny bit. “Expect the unexpected” became a saying for a reason. I know, you can’t take it literally – once you expect something, it is not unexpected anymore, is it? – but you can certainly be ready for things to throw off your plan.
