Since I last posted here, we had a snowfall. We do not often have snowfalls. Places who do likely laugh at our collective reaction.
This less-than-a-foot snowfall promptly iced over. Several people I know either had their work close for a few days or were told to work from home, so everyone’s routines got thrown off. Our neighbor pulled about nine cars up a particularly slick hill in one day. We could not shovel the driveway clear; we cut the snow-turned-ice with a gardening tool so we could toss chunks into the yard.
Several of these chunks were fairly large, and we began stacking them. Every time we went outside, someone put a few more on top. Instead of a snowman in our yard this Winter, we ended up with this abstract ice sculpture of jagged, precariously balanced slabs. Later, we saw on the news where someone a town over had used the same type of broken snow-ice to make an igloo!
