Let me confirm what you have probably guessed; I have not advertised this website. Practically no one knows about it yet – I have told two people how to find it, that is all. Imagine my surprise when I found a notice telling me I needed to moderate a comment. Some one had commented on the sample post that came with the website before I knew I had one! I did not know how to do anything about it, so just left it there. Three days later, they tried again, with the exact same words.
Late July I got two identical comments, one on each of the first two posts, with inordinate praise for my tiny website about nothing special yet. First of August there came another one, repeated thrice and in the same minute, noting that it was hard to find people who know about this topic. Thanks? I do know a lot about myself and my dreams, as I imagine few others on the web do, but why were you searching? The latest only commented on the most recent two pages, and several hours apart; it was short and encouraging.
How do you tell the bots from the people? The first one seemed fishy to me back in June, but now I consider it might be more legit; it held an offer to assist with WordPress issues, and a LinkedIn link (which actually points to LinkedIn).
Preparation for NaNoWriMo 2022 officially starts tomorrow. I’m not ready to prepare yet; I am making a second draft of what I did last year. I will condense their 6 steps to being ready into whatever time is left after this rewrite is done.
Next year, I believe I will have progressed with the website enough to ask your opinion. I want to present a few story ideas here, and get your feedback on what project to begin for next NaNoWriMo. I am excited.
By the way, if you want to prepare for NaNoWriMo yourself, or just think about any story (first half) or creative endeavor (second half) you have, consider a quick glance through their handbook. Here it is:
